As summer winds down, our lives seem to be getting busier. This summer has been full of making memories and soaking in every moment while still spiritually and physically preparing for life in Honduras. We have had the opportunity to visit a few churches and share our heart for this mission that God has called us to. We are looking forward to a full calendar this fall of visiting more churches to share what God is doing. The spiritual preparations have grown our faith immensely and my favorite mornings are spent talking with Chris about how God is working each and every day in our lives.

As far as our personal lives, I look at every purchase we make as “does it fit in a suitcase?”. The walls are getting more and more bare as I sell, throw, or pack away things that we won’t be taking with us. God has shown up in the fact that it doesn’t seem to be making us sad for what we are physically leaving behind - but excited for the future and opportunities He has in Honduras for us. We homeschool our 5 kids and typically start the first week of August. WELL….I’m a little behind and the curriculum hasn’t even arrived yet! Oh well. The school year in Honduras runs from February - November so we are going to consider ourselves on Honduran time for school this year (or maybe somewhere in the middle!)

I’m headed to Honduras September 9th to spend a few days scoping out the house we will be living in and figuring out what updates need to be made before we can live in it. I’ll be headed to some stores to price things out and hopefully have a set plan for January. I’ll also get to celebrate Children’s Day while I’m there - a holiday dedicated to celebrating the kids - how awesome is that? I’m super excited to be a part of that.
